Michigan Association of Calligraphers (MAC) is a non-profit organization that is open to all who are interested in calligraphy, the art of beautiful writing. MAC was formed in 1978. Its principal purposes and functions are to perpetuate, enhance, and promote the art of calligraphy. Our membership includes beginning through advanced students, professional calligraphers and interested artists. MAC has approximately 100 members, most of who live in southeastern lower Michigan, although we also have members in six states and two foreign countries.

MAC sponsors General Meetings with programs, workshops, exhibitions, and lectures throughtout the year. MAC holds General Meetings four times per year in March, May, September, and December. Workshops are offered for beginner through advanced calligraphers, with topics ranging from alphabets, alphabet variations, creative use of lettering and related interests, such as bookbinding.

In addition, MAC sponsors annual exhibitions, which may be either juried and non-juried, to expose the general public to all that calligraphy is and to provide our members with an opportunity to exhibit our work.

The Board of Directors serves voluntarily and through their dedication and efforts, they promote calligraphy and bring our members all the benefits associated with membership.
